The international arbitration world can be pretty stuffy - lots of formality and tradition. I get it, respect it, but at the end of the day, these are business problems that need practical solutions. Sometimes the best outcome isn't an arbitral award, it's getting everyone back to the table for a deal that actually works.

I'm an ICC arbitrator now, which gives me insight into how panels think. That's invaluable when you're representing clients. You learn what arguments land and which ones just waste everyone's time. My approach? Get to the point, back it up with solid evidence, and don't try to snow the arbitrators with BS. They've seen it all before.

Did my time at a national firm doing discovery reviews and drafting memos no one read. Learned the mechanics, but it felt like assembly line work.
